The FinCap Journey
Our story began with a focus on supporting Australian small-to-medium businesses and understanding what drives them to thrive.
Since our inception, we have built a track record investing in profitable businesses with recurring revenue streams and a focus on sustainable value creation. Over time, we recognised a broader opportunity: sophisticated investors and their advisers needed better ways to access private markets, combining transparency and control with institutional-quality investments. This led us to develop our private asset managed account platform as a natural extension of our direct investment capability.

Serge is CEO and a founding Director of FinCap, bringing over 28 years of global experience in strategy, M&A, and business development. His career at CSL, where he served as Vice President of Strategy & Corporate Development, saw him evaluate and execute global growth opportunities. Serge also serves on the Boards of The Burnet Medical Institute and Centre for Eye Research Australia (CERA), strengthening FinCap’s commitment to purpose-driven leadership.

Matt is Chief Financial Officer of FinCap, bringing extensive experience as a Chartered Accountant and CFO across elite sport, professional services, and corporate environments. He has held senior leadership roles at Western United FC and Essendon Football Club, developing expertise in financial management, performance leadership, and organisational culture. At FinCap, Matt provides financial oversight, supports strategy execution, and helps drive disciplined growth, ensuring strong financial governance and high-performing operations.

Michelle leads adviser, consultant and client engagement for our Private Asset Managed Account (PAMA) platform, helping advisers give their clients access to institutional-quality private market opportunities through a managed account structure. Michelle has more than 25 years of experience across Australia and the UK, including senior leadership roles at BT Financial Group where she helped design and grow the BT Panorama managed accounts platform from the ground up. She has played a key role in shaping how advisers and investors access managed account solutions across the industry.

Before transitioning into the investment space, she spent over seven years in the online education sector, where she led business operations, managed cross-functional teams, and implemented scalable systems to support growth. At FinCap, Fiona supports the team with research, analysis, and project execution, leveraging her diverse background to add value across a range of initiatives.

Previously, he was Head of Technology at a Melbourne-based consultancy, delivering financial service solutions.
